We celebrated AJ’s birthday last Jan 20. It was a memorable day for him since we did something different. Before doing something, we asked him of what he expects to happen during his special day. Then he told us that he wanted to eat outside, be with cousins and special friends. And his wished was granted. He’s grown up and wanted his own way at times. We’re glad that he’s on his way to become teenager and we enjoyed seeing him grow with the fear of the Lord in his heart.

Just to Ponder

I asked God, “Why do you have to create pain and hurt? Why not all laughter and cheer? Why do we have to cry? Why not all smiles painted in our faces?” He held my hand and said, “My child, you would not have time to Thank Me when you are always happy. Sometimes, I let you experience pain and sadness for you to recognize Me. Remember, whatever happens, everything has a purpose. I always give a rainbow after the rain…

What the future holds

I am blessed by reading daily bread. And I would like to share it with you.

Everyday, we may fear the future because of events in the past. But we need not remain chained to our old memories because we can move ahead focused on God. Just as the Lord watched over the land and His people, so His eyes will be upon us all.

God’s faithful care will extend to every day of the new year. We can count on that promise.
Thought for this New Year:

God holds the future in His hands
With grace sufficient day by day
Through good or ill He gently leads
If we but let Him have His way
The what of our future is determined by the Who of eternity.
