Mommy Moments- Songs from a Mom's Heart

mommy moments
I missed writing here at Mommy Moments and decided to write before I leave back to the Phil. next week. Time is so fast that I will be leaving my hubby behind and continue to work. This week's theme is "Songs from a Mom's Heart" and I've got some songs.

When my first son was born, (14 years ago) he cried a lot and when I sing songs for him, he gradually fall asleep. I usually sing "Sa Ugoy ng Duyan" which is my favorite song when I joined the singing group known as Glee Club in our university. From then on, I decided to compose a song for my son in our own dialect. Here's the lyric in Ilonggo...

Sleep, sleep my baby Em-em ( my son's nickname)
Sleep, sleep my baby Em-em
Sleep na ang baby ko
Sleep na ang baby ko

After 8 years, AJ was born and Still remember the song and the tune. So I sang again for AJ, I just change the name of Em-em to AJ. And still he loved it. I also sang "Sing a Rainbow", here's the lyrics...

Red, and yellow, and pink, and green
Purple, and orange, and blue
I can sing a rainbow, sing a rainbow
Sing a rainbow too.
AJ loves this song too, and until now when I sing it, he would sing with me. I love those days. Now they're grown ups and I still long to hug and kiss them like when they were still a baby. Mommy Moments is indeed the right place to share Mommy's experiences, trials and triumphs. Wanna join?

Friday Photoflashback

Friday Photo Flashback
When I was still studying for my Bachelor's Degree, I was a scholar under Glee Club. Glee Club is the name of the singing group of the college that time now, it became a university. Our group was the known singing group in the 90's and we won 2nd place in the National Competition (known as NAMCYA- National Music Competition for Young Artists) held at CCP, Manila. This is one of our costumes.

One of my unforgettable and happy moments, and the time when hubby saw me singing, waaahhhh! He was attracted to my voice, then attracted to my grades, when we became classmates, hehe! I'd got the highest grade in our Practical Teaching inside the classroom when I did my demonstration, since then, he started making friends with me, haha! and I was trapped by his sweet ways, and fall in love after a year. What an experience!!!

Alicia of Friday Photoflashback has more to share. See you there!

Breakfast in Bed -Couple's Corner

Rodliz’s Nest
There is still time though I'm late, hehe! I remember when I was a newly wed, hubby would love to prepare something for me and we often had breakfast in bed. Oh how sweet, I missed those days. When the time passed... it changes, especially when we had already kids to be taken cared of. I could say, those were the days.

Love, however, still keeping intact to both of us. Until now, he would kiss me anywhere, especially when I'm cooking, or doing something, if he's around - he would kiss and say the sweet words, he's indeed a sweet guy, more so if I did something for him like footspa with a massage and other things he would love. That's my hubby! Sometimes, our sons though would "wink and sigh" of his sweetness.

I always agree, it takes two to tango in marriage, and we need to show how we care to our spouse. Doing extra mile is something we need to do in order to make a happy family.

I would like to share the message I've learned when we celebrated the hearts' day, it says...

Happy Wife
Happy Life

Medicare Supplements

My father is sickly, he always need a medication and a supplement everyday. He needs medicare supplements every now and then. So my mother has to send him to his doctor every month with the aid of my sister.

I love searching online, and today I found an answer to my father's concern. I had found the best senior medicare supplement for my father's medication and supplements. And besides, it's nice since the rates are based on zip codes and the health care costs in our area. Their Licensed Agents will help determine which Medicare supplement insurance plan will best meet our needs. They are trained based upon your needs, they will present you with Medicare supplement choices that will give us the best options. Wow, this is great and my sister would be happy with this plan. My family will not worry about medicare supplements for our father. Thanks to this medication online. It's indeed helpful.

Yummy Sunday

Today, after the worship service in the church we are attending every Sunday, we had a great celebration. There were 3 celebrators. One is graduating in the university and will be going to the U.S. for his on the job training while the other 2 were still children, 6 and 9 respectively. These kids are so great, the 6-year old only celebrates every 4 years since his birthday falls every Feb. 29. Yet, he is a happy child with a blessed mother. So, you can see the cake here which is so yummy when you look at it, but it breaks my diet, huhuhu!

Thanks to Boogie in her Perfectly Blended for hosting this meme. Have fun joining here.

Jesus Died and Rose Again - Then Sings My Soul

I love this song, glad to see the link. This is one of the songs that I love most and I always thank the Lord for all the things He has done for me. Hosanna... Hosanna... Jesus died and rose again.

Thanks to Amy in Signs, Miracles and Wonders. You can find more songs of praise and worship to our King.

I just want to say "Thank you so much for all your prayers and petitions for my health". In a week's time I will be flying back to the Phil. for my myoma operation. Hope you will continue to say a prayer until that day. If I can't visit you, please pardon me. I might be in the operating room by then. Again, thanks to all.

Link Exchange - BC Blogger Secret

One of my concerns when I started blogging was spending time linking others. It gets all my time and efforts just to visit again and again. Writing takes my time too, visiting others would add to it. It's so tiring and get bored too.

But just today, while I was visiting to some of my visitors, I saw this kind of link. I get interested and look for it. It's BC Blogger's Secret. Wow, what's the secret in here, thought. Then I found out that joining is so easy and I can gain more and nothing to loose. Bloggers will just visit my place and I don't need to visit again and again everyday. They will do it for me.

So, for those who wanted this link, come and try to visit BC Blogger's Secret to link exchange.

FileMaker Software

Working with all the files is something I'm worried about since we started working. A lot of shelves here and there, a lot of files being stocked and many times I'm confused of where to find it. FileMaker is something that we need, I guess, in order to put all the files in a software and it's easy to look for it when needed.

One thing for sure is that I need to look for FileMaker Templates to fit for my need. Files are indeed important and need to be taken cared of. Before, it's so hard for me to make and save files on the shelves, it happens one time in our school, when there was fire and all our files were lost. And it's so hard to regain all those files. I would rather suggest that my school will look for FileMaker Developer and save all the files in the software for them to be easily file all the records.

I remember last time, students who already graduated asked for their records and it took many days for the clerk to search the student's files in the shelves. She feels bored doing all those things. It's good that there is FileMaker available online, it would be helpful to our school since it is a big school and it exists for more than a century already.

Friday Photo Flashback
This happened in 2007 when we're invited to see the beauty of Genting Highlands in Malaysia. Hubby forced me to ride this fast rail, I forgot the name of it, we're out of the real world, everything here was fantasy, we're in the fantasy world for 3days. We had lots of fun - we're blessed by friends because everything was provided. We were blessed when we started to follow and obey the Lord's plan for us. We had tasted how great our God is.

Alicia of Friday Photoflashback has more to share. Thanks Alicia.

Safety Software

In this present generation, fast pace and internet is everywhere, as a mother like me, I have a bigger concern for my kids growing up process. I have now a teenager who knows better than me as far as internet is concerned. He can surf so easily and look for links anywhere in the net. I guess, we need something to monitor our kids.

What I'm trying to say is, how can I trust fully in what my son is doing on the net. How can I be sure that he is searching good things? We all know that there are good and bad things that we can get from surfing the net. I feel badly of some children who learned pornography through the use of the internet. Pornographic pictures are everywhere and before we knew it, they are already in danger. I'm glad to know this Internet Safety Software that helps parents monitor our children activity in the net.

This could be of help since we cannot always be with our children all the time. It automatically record all the things they are doing on the pc and internet. This is a great idea for parents to monitor our children. I better choose and have to acquire of this, and we, as parents, must be aware of this Internet Safety Software for my kids' safety.

My Preparations

Thinking of my operation I refrain. I don't want to think of it. But I still can't flee away from it. It's only 2 weeks left and I will fly back to the Phil. to prepare for my myoma operation. It's tough to think of it, it's tougher when I will be there in front of the so called operation thing...

But since I had miscarriage few weeks ago and had big myoma (like an apple) I have to, no choice whatsoever. But leaving hubby behind seems like tearing my heart open wide. Few weeks ago until we celebrated Valentine's Day, I don't have this feeling, just this day that hubby was reminding me to prepare what I need to bring. Thinking of it all, I don't know, I don't understand my feelings. But I have no choice as what I have said, hubby will have a hard time to take care of me here, since we don't have a family, although we have friends here and there but it's different when it's your family that would take care of you.

Thank you for friends who really care - our friends in Thailand, Malaysia, Phil, all throughout the world who constantly praying for me. I even thank my blogger friends here and there, for all your prayers and support, I'm blessed to know you all. The Lord will continue to bless you and your ministry as well because we always believe that He who Promised is Faithful. Our God is faithful to provide everything and to bless His children.

Please help me pray for strength, it's not so easy, though my friends would always say, it's okay it's not dangerous, but to think of an operation, for me, is not a joke, I had no experience on that thing, and I might be scared, but then, I trust God, the maker of heaven and earth and the giver of life. I just need your prayers, it will really make a difference and God will be glorified. I will let you know more here of how faithful our God is... Blessings to all!

Friday Photo Flashback
After my wedding in 1993, I was invited to be an Inspirational speaker in the Elementary School where I graduated. I graduated First Honors so they were so eager to invite me to encourage and challenge the coming graduates, especially the principal of the school who was also my teacher in High School. I was still young that time, hehe! Can you see it here? Still fresh and I love this picture because I look pretty, hehe, just kidding.

It's nice to recall those years, looking young and energetic. I'm glad Alicia hosted this, she has more to share with Friday Photoflashback.

International Phone Cards

Mobile phones are very useful these days, since our world is fast changing and everything is done fast. We could see people using it everyday, young and old. And since there are mobile phones and other useful telecommunications we need to use prepaid phone cards which is the easiest way to load and call online.

I also use my mobile phone to call to my family back home, it's easy without many charges. Then I use prepaid phone cards often times, I find it easy and useful and besides it's cheaper and there are no additional charges. I enjoy using it to call overseas. There are many International prepaid phone cards available these days.

My sister often calls us and she said she used prepaid phone cards to call us because she finds it easy and cheaper. She is working abroad and her calls are really great according to her. We talked a lot and spend longer time sharing her experiences every now and then.

My Valentine's Date for 2010

Ladies, women, and girls, I guess, are excited to have a date this coming Valentine's Day. When I was still young, I remember when hubby was still my very close friend, he would bring me to a cool and romantic place. I love those days, we had a good time together. We ate together, we laughed, and enjoyed seeing the beauty of nature or we would eat fried peanuts and sit under the tree inside Bacolod Lagoon. Girls Rule is quiet exciting, I recall the love of my life, and my sweet experiences. Thanks for this meme.

I remember, he was just courting me that time, he was the Core Commander of the college, so he had many students under him following all his commands. I was still studying during that time and was doing my practice - teaching (practicum). One morning, that was Valentine's Day, a student was looking for me bringing a bouquet of flowers. He had been asking so many students around if they knew me. I was known to most high school students because I was their teacher, it's easy for that guy to look for me. So, when that student saw me, he gave the bouquet of flowers, then I asked, "Where is this coming from? He did not say anything. But when I received it after saying "thank you" I saw that there was a small note, haha! That came from my admirer, who became my bf after few years of courting. That was fun and feeling I was in the clouds, yohowww!

After getting married with the same man who spent all his time, with all those love letters and small notes with flowers every now and then, I was deeply in love. I still hope to have flowers on my table with small notes few years later. Valentine's Day is something I treasure most during those years.

However, time changed, at this time I don't receive any flowers and even chocolates. But every now and then, hubby is buying some food that I love most. Valentine's Day became so usual that sometimes we forgot it especially when nobody will remind us. But the love of caress and taking care of each one is something we always do.

Sorry for a long story, I just remember my experience during Valentine's Day. This coming special day, we will be joining with some friends who will be coming to be with us and to say goodbye as I prepare to go back to the Phil. early next month for my myoma medication. At least, I'm here with hubby this special day of hearts before leaving him for a while.

Join us today and share the love of your life and your experiences on Valebtie's Day with Girls Rule.

Word-Filled Wednesday

Psalm 62:8

Trust in Him at all times
you people
Pour out your heart before Him
God is a refuge for us

As I prepare for my travel back to the Phil. for my myoma treatment, this verse gave me strength and hope in the Lord. My doctor urged me to be back soon since I had miscarriage and the myoma is quite big. Thanks to all your prayers. Blessings to you all.

All you have to Give has more to share. Our God is an awesome God. And His words never fail.

Plans for Valentine's Day?

Yes, Valentine's Day is fast approaching, we could not deny the fact that lovers are eager to give something to their special someone to prove their love and commitment even just a time as this. More so for husband and wife. What could be the romantic place for them. How about my hubby? Is he going to bring me somewhere? Now, I'm writing beside him and letting him know my intention, lol! And he was grinning and thinking of something. I just hope he will be touched, lol!

On the other hand, our friends invited us for a dinner with some friends. We will be sharing food, and laughter and maybe a little of games to perk up our intimate time together. But then I still long to be with hubby alone in one romantic place, just like old times, when we used to go and spend time in a special place outside our home. It's a wonderful experience, right?

I will be going back to the Phil. for the treatment of my myoma and I will be missing my hubby for quite sometime. Although my OB told me to go back home ASAP, but I insisted if I can spend time with hubby just for a couple of days. And I'm glad she agreed but not too late. I'm still excited to be with hubby on this special occasion. Yes, I agree with Mommy Liz, when you see often or together everyday, night and day, it seems that everyday is just normal and special days are being taken for granted.

Anyway, whether hubby will give me a flower or not he's still my dear friend, lover, and my ever dear sweet hubby. Hope you can join here too with Rodliz's Nest. Share your love life. It's a joy to share and we are excited to read it.

Bored of mixed files?

We were blessed by a laptop last year and after a year of using it I find it hard to synchronize all the documents in a folder. A lot of documents were inside and we don't know how to do about it. Sometimes I'm puzzled of all the files. I'm glad to hear this directory synchronization, a different way of filing documents and to synchronize all the files inside. It would be easier to look for the files in the folders with the use of the directory and spare a little time to check and search for the file.

I guess, you have already heard about file synchronization. File sync is free to download for noncommercial usage. With the help of directory synchronization lesser time will be spent on checking and looking for all the files. I'm excited to download this file synchronization folder. But I need to buy directory synchronization for all the files and to help me synchronize all the files stored in the laptop. You can have it too. It would really help. Just check it out. It's interesting.

My Doctor's Advise

While I was having pain last weekend, a friend of mine who also had experienced miscarriage chatted to me. That's was the first time that we chatted, we just met 3 years ago. But when I told her about my case, she prompted me to call my doctor in the Phil. who knew my history. I didn't think of it, I just thought of the pain of losing my baby. Now time for a change came in.

After our communicating to her, I immediately told my hubby, and intentionally called my doctor the next day. I shared to my OB-Gyne what had happened and she urged me to go back home as soon as possible (ASAP). I asked her if I can go next month considering of the expenses and the travel. She agreed, but she was persistent in telling me that not too long for my case is different.

Another friend called me and she also encouraged me to consider having my myoma operation here in Thailand instead of going back to the Phil. Considering all the expenses in going back and forth and according to her, based on her father's treatment, they had spent a lot there in the Phil. However, I have that peace of mine with my OB doing the operation in Bacolod because she knows my history and the needed medication because that is her specialization and besides she knows us well as a family, and she is also a believer.

One thing that my friend told me, I will avoid stress and carrying heavy loads because that would add to the size of my myoma. Thinking of stress, I can't avoid it this time because of the needed expenses and everything and so many things to consider. We just end our talk with laughter and reminded each other that everything is under God's hands so need to worry. Thanks for friends who really care.

In the evening, another friend came and met us, everything coming on the same day. She is our close Thai friend, she wanted to help us too. But she asked for more details and the probable expenses we'll be having and the needed things to consider. We were shocked when she told us that a foreigner having an operation here in Thailand must pay three times the price. That means if our bills for the whole operation is 20.000 we need to pay 60,oooBaht. Wow, that's big. Few years ago, I told her that it's only times two (2x), but she said this year they applied the times three (3x) bills for foreigners. Now, the Lord is leading us the right way, because at first it's too hard for us to decide, considering of leaving my dear hubby alone and bringing my kids with me. We reallt thank the Lord for the guidance and on what to do and decide, although our friend told us that she can help the doctors in the operating room because she's a nurse by profession and had worked in the hospital for many years. But we decided to go home. Indeed, the Lord knows even before we ask in prayer.

Time for a Change

For those who are following my posts, I wrote about my miscarriage and my pains. Let me share to you why I cried a lot for the loss of my baby.

After new year I went to the hospital for check and the doctor discovered that I'm on the way of having a baby. It was already 6 weeks. Pregnancy only comes every 7 years for me. I was excited because it's God's number. After few weeks something happened that I never expected. We were about to be hit by a motorcycle driver on our way home. I was upset and had sleepless night. Early morning, I found out that I was bleeding, we hurriedly went to the hospital for check up. The doctor discovered that I had myoma which has 7.8cm in diameter and my baby was only 2cm.

She told me that the bleeding was caused by myoma, so there's no medication and I will just take a rest. After a week I need to be back for another check up, she said. We went home but the pain was so severe and the bleeding was so intense which I barely take it, thinking of my baby I just suffered, I kept it and just bear the severe pain without knowing that my baby was already crying for help. I did not do anything because I trusted the doctor so much.

After few days, bleeding was still disturbing me but the pain was over. I still told my baby to hang on, with a thought that myoma will be gone soon. I was upset a bit why my tummy was becoming smaller, but I still hope for the best, that my baby is still there hanging on. However, in the evening, these words were coming on my mind and every now and then it keeps reminding me, and I woke up with the same words -- Time for a Change---

The awaited day was over and we were ready to see the doctor. I prepared myself early and went to the hospital with my sweetie. We waited for awhile then the doctor came in. She did a check up with the ultrasound, she found out that there's no baby inside. She told me that maybe it was only a mass or something inside and it's gone sometimes. Yet she told me a week before that there is a heartbeat inside and last check up she said if the baby will grow the myoma will become smaller. She did not even asked me of what had happened to me during the week and just jump to a conclusion... We went home and didn't know what to do. I was still okay but in the evening during our devotional, I remembered my baby. I had the after effect feeling. I was hurt, I cried a lot because of the doctor's non - caring attitude towards my baby. I was bothered because I didn't do anything for her. I just presume that she's a girl (my baby) and sorry for that. That's what I feel.

I blamed the doctor, I blamed myself, I blamed the circumstances even the motorcycle driver. I was crying a lot, wherever I go and whatever I do, whether I cook or doing something, I heard my baby crying for help. I was starting to be bitter and angry at the circumstances. My hubby was already bothered. I was really glad when he reminded me through his prayer that I don't need to blame anyone, the circumstances, or even myself because everything has a purpose. Yes, I always do that, but when you are in that situation you will sometimes forget the purpose because of the pain. Now I understand how it feels when a mother has miscarriage. It's very painful physically and emotionally.

If you were in that situation, what will you do? Therefore I conclude, two is better than one. If I was alone having the pain, I would be led to a bad thoughts that will lead me to become angry and bitter. I'm so blessed to have a hubby who really cares and understands me fully.

Mommy Moments - Love Language

AJ was thankful after his 6th birthday last year.
AJ is sweet as always
AJ got his sweet actions from his Papa,
however, Em2 our teenager
could not be seen here.
He got his aloof attitude from his Mama.
Gradually, i have learned to show my love
through actions to the love of my life
so you can see me here, hugging my hubby.
It took time for me to show my love
but you have nothing to do
if your beloved has a lot of sweet ways.
You will learn
through all the years ....
AJ always hugs, but his kuya finds it corny and awkward.

Word-Filled Wednesday

And we know
that in all things God works
for the good of those who love Him,
who have been called
according to His purpose
Romans 8:28
I am grateful today that in the midst of frustrations and trials we can still say that we are safe in His loving arms. It's sad to think of the loss of our baby but God works for good.

Thank you to all who prayed for me. I'm okay now, as far as health is concerned. We are just coping with the new change. It's sudden and hurting but life is like that. I still need an operation for the myoma to be gone. Now, this verse is real to us these days and I'm blessed to have Jesus.

Couple's Corner - How Do I Love Thee

This is my first time to join this meme. I have seen it many times and quite excited to join but I also failed many times to post. Today, I have mixed emotions and to feel at ease I decided to write and join here. Mixed emotions in the sense that our most awaited baby is gone, I had miscarriage, you can check it in my other posts below. So I wanted to be at peace this time and think of how I madly in love with the one I love aside from my Heavenly Father who loves me and cares for me.

I fall in love to my only beloved and since then I continue to fall in love each day as we travel through life's journey. Loving my sweetheart is not hard. A lot of times, ladies easily attracted to his sweet ways. I'm blessed with my sweetheart. Here are some of the things why I fall in love with him each day...

I Love him because he really cares.... if I'm sick or not well, he does the household chores like cleaning, cooking, washing the clothes and a lot more.

I love him of his sweet ways of being a childlike in front of me, his caring attitude and the like.

I love him of being so friendly to anyone, he could easily make friends to anybody around the world, and that's my hubby.

I love the way he takes care of our children and the way he showed his love.

I love his touch, when I'm sick, he usually massage my back, head...

My sweetheart is so wonderful, I remember the time when he wrote a letter telling me that he's so thankful to having me in his life, and has nothing more to ask for ... wow! I'm blessed to have my sweetie.

I have so many things to share, next time perhaps. Thanks for this meme Rodeliz, I enjoyed. Great and lovely posts about couples with Rodliz Nest. Come and join and have fun sharing your life's experience.
